Also known as Mugwort, Croneswort, and the Herb of Saint John,
Black Sage is valued traditionally worldwide for its many medicinal,
magical, and sprirtual uses. A repellent to insects and parasites,
in the Lakota tradition it is also believed to repel bad spirits.
Cross culturally, this herb is used to stimulate dreams and visions.
Medicinally used as an emmenagogue, hemostatic, anti-spasmodic,
bitter tonic, nervine, diaphoretic, and diuretic. Mugwort has
been used in the treatment of menstrual and abdominal pain, excessive
bleeding, miscarriage, parasites and worms, colds, flu, insomnia,
nervousness, and pain.
